The Foundation’s first major project was the commitment to acquire the area of approximately 20,000 square metres and support the construction of the new ‘La Carovana’ school complex in Modena.
It was Dr. Piccinini himself who, in 1979, originated the idea of the first school run by the Cooperativa Sociale ‘La Carovana’ and continuously supported its progress and development.
On 26 May 2003, the laying of the foundation stone was solemnly celebrated at the Via F.lli Rosselli construction site, in the presence of civil and religious authorities and the extraordinary participation of many friends present to express their affection for Enzo and support for the initiative.
The end of the work was celebrated on 26 May 2005. Since September 2005, the new school complex has been open, covering about 5,000 square metres and housing schools from nursery to junior high school.
